The Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council of Canada

CAMSC is the Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council of Canada. It operates as a private sector-led, non profit membership organization governed by a board of Directors; composed of major multinational corporations operating in Canada. The organization aims to boost economic development efforts and employment. CAMSC also certifies bona-fide Aboriginal and visible minority-owned firms by conducting audits of ownership, sales, and business practices. The entire process includes a review and vote of the supplier by the board of directors and a site visit.

PSAB Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Businesses

PSAB is the Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Businesses. It is operated by the federal government of Canada with a mandate to certify and qualify certain Aboriginal suppliers as recognized "Aboriginal Businesses". The Federal Governments audited qualifications include proof of being Aboriginal Status and Canadian Residence, Aboriginal ownership of the enterprise, number of Aboriginal employees, and other qualifiers.

FSC Forest Stewardship Council

FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council ®) is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. It provides standard setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services for companies and organizations interested in responsible forestry. Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.

Sustainable Forestry Initiative

SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to improving forest management in North America and supporting procurement globally. The SFI forest certification standard is based on principles that promote sustainable forest management, including measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and forests with exceptional conservation value. SFI certification also extends to the market. When they see the SFI label on a product, consumers can be confident they are buying wood or paper from responsible sources.
